Best looking business competition

The Melksham Best Looking Business for Spring 2015 has been awarded to Casa Restaurant on Bath Road. The award was created by Melksham Town Team to recognise businesses that make a special effort in their displays and general appearance which contribute to making Melksham a lovely town to visit.

Around 150 nominations were received, by email and on paper at the Town Hall, and Casa scored highest on nominations, with the Samovar Gift Shop in second place and Waitrose in third.

Reasons for Casa’s nominations included comments that it is ‘classy,’ ‘sophisticated,’ ‘refreshingly chic,’ ‘fresh,’ ‘modern,’ with ‘excellent staff, food and service’ and ‘it is elegant and understated but delivers a wonderful effect all round.’

Ilir Bakiji, the manager of Casa said, ‘We are so happy to receive this award of Best Looking Business and would like to say thank you to the people of Melksham for the great support we have received in the three months that we have been here.’

Casa opened in Melksham in February this year and has proven incredibly popular so far. Terri Welch, the chair of Melksham Town Team who presented the award, said, ‘It is a delight to have such a friendly, welcoming restaurant in town. And the food is brilliant.’

Nominations for the Autumn Best Looking Business Award will open in September.

Previous winners have been Candy Jax in the Littlebrook Centre and the Samovar in King Street. Pauline Fisher from the Samovar said, ‘We are delighted to receive this honour of “Best Looking Business” and would like to say a big Thank you to all our customers for voting for us.’
