Community Engagement

Melksham Town Council has a dedicated Community Engagement Officer on their team, who provides support to local volunteers, groups and organisations. Debbie Bentley started the role in May 2018.

Her role involves:

  • raising awareness of local volunteer activities
  • identifying support mechanisms to enable local volunteers to take forward community-led initiatives;
  • developing strong networks and links between community groups, organisations and service users;
  • co-ordinating and facilitating community-led activities and action plans.

Debbie will be producing regular newsletters updating us on her activities. If you would like to receive these newsletters, or are looking for support please contact her directly.

Volunteering:

Many activities within Melksham simply could not happen without the input from our towns many volunteers. Opportunities range from regular commitments to one off events. Whatever your situation, there’s bound to be something to fit.
