Melksham - How to Find Us
By Rail .....
With the start of the Summer Timetable on 20th May 2001 an improved train service will be available from Melksham.
Monday to Friday sees four trains from Swindon to Southampton and two from Swindon to Westbury. In the reverse direction there will be one train from Frome to Cheltenham Spa, one from Westbury to Swindon and three from Southampton to Swindon. Some of the services to and from Southampton either go via or start from Eastleigh.
On Saturdays, going south there will be four trains each way. Three from Swindon to Southampton and one from Swindon to Westbury. Going north, three from Southampton to Swindon and one from Westbury to Swindon.
There will be three trains each way on Sundays; two from Swindon to Southampton and one Swindon to Westbury going south. Going north, one from Salisbury to Swindon and two from Southampton to Swindon.
Connections can be made at Chippenham, Swindon, Cheltenham Spa, Trowbridge, Westbury, Salisbury or Southampton for other destinations on the rail network.

Melksham is well served by good roads and is only 12 miles south of the M4 motorway, junction 17 on the main A350 to Poole and the South Coast.
Buses serve Bath, Chippenham, Devizes, Trowbridge and other local towns, and there are frequent town services.
National Express Coaches run direct to London, Victoria daily with a fuller service from Chippenham.
The Tourist Information Centre holds a full range of time-tables, issues National Express and other Bus and Coach Tickets.

The nearest airport to Melksham is Bristol International from Bristol take the M4 motorway eastbound leaving at Junction 17 for Chippenham and then via the A350 as described above. Both Birmingham and London Heathrow are within two hours drive.
Sea .....
Closest Channel Ferry port is Poole in Dorset followed by Weymouth, Southampton and Portsmouth. Travel time is between one and two hours depending on traffic conditions.
