Melksham Area Community Safety Group

The Melksham Area Community Safety Group came under the wing of Melksham 1st in 2005 and is an effective forum for airing concerns from the local community. With representation from Town and Parish Councils, Police, Selwood Housing Society, George Ward School, Youth Development and other local organisations, the group explores and agrees actions addressing these concerns.The group meets with Neighbourhood Policing Team every 3 months to plan ahead for the next 3 months. CSG meetings are held on a regular basis at the Town Hall and cobined CSG/NPT meetings are held in the Assembly Hall.

Melksham Electronic Organ-Keyboard Club

Melksham Climate Friendly Group - Part of a network of communities aimed at encouraging towns across Wiltshire to adopt a greener lifestyles and helping mitigate climate change. The Melksham Pearlies

A husband and wife team who entertain throughout Wiltshire, Somerset, South Gloucestershire and surrounding areas. We wear pearly costumes and we sing many of the traditional Cockney and other songs. We perform for 60+ groups, W.I. Groups, clubs, birthday parties (i.e.: 100th) and other celebrations at their own venues. We give our profits to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

The Rachel Fowler Centre

Has been a community centre established in 1980, originally it was a Congregational Church and takes its name from Miss Rachel Fowler, a church benefactor. The centre is administered by volunteers, and the Main Hall and Sunday School rooms are available at reasonable rates. Melksham Rotary Club

Rotary is an organisation that has been around for over 100 years. Interestingly it is not a British institution but in fact originated in America and is now International.

It's primary function is to help others, it's motto is "service above self" and like most mottos sets very high ideals, however we do raise money for local and international appeals as well as help people reach their potential.

Our W.I. Is a very friendly group. We cater for as many of our members' interests as possible. We have groups in craft, poetry, theatre and dining out. We join with other local W.I.'s for meetings and outings. We attend County and National events all making for a very interesting W.I. life.
