Children
and Young People are important to the future of
the town and it is important that adequate opportunities
and facilities are provided for them.
The
Partnership has consulted young people and everyone
is concerned about the lack of facilities for
them, particularly for teenagers.
|
The
Partnership will support projects designed to:
- Develop
and support the potential of young people.
- Increase
the involvement of young people in community
decisions.
- Improve
access to employment, educational and recreational
opportunities.
- Extend
the range of non-alcohol based leisure opportunities
in the town centre, especially for young people.
- Provide
further meeting places and facilities for young
people.
|
|
|
The
Partnership will work with young people, youth
services, police, schools and others to improve
local facilities.
|
|
You
told us that there is a need to increase the range
of local opportunities
and facilities for sport and recreation.
|
|
The
Partnership will therefore support
initiatives and projects that secure:
- Help
to improve existing facilities and their use.
- Develop
links with schools for 'after hours' use.
- Develop
appropriate new facilities.
|
|
|
The
Partnership will work with sports clubs, their
users, local authorities and leisure operators
to secure these improvements.
|
|
You
wanted everyone to be kept fully informed and
given the chance to get involved in community
initiatives.
|
|
The
Partnership
would like all projects to:
- Encourage
public involvement in their development and
management.
- Increase
public understanding of community issues generally.
You
also stressed the importance of having access
to good advice about issues that affect our welfare.
The
Partnership will work with the local media to
publicise its activities and to engage local people
in the process of regeneration.
